
CLASSES
Classes are held on Saturday mornings 9:00 a.m. to noon from September to May, with the school year split into two semesters. Classes are held at Watchung Hills Regional High School, 108 Stirling Road, Warren, New Jersey. Instruction is oriented toward children and adults of all ages and abilities, with small class size to enhance the educational experience. Registration occurs in September (refer to the calendar for registration date & time), though new students are welcomed throughout the year.
Spielschule
- Children three years of age and older.
Kindergarten
- Children five years of age and older.
Levels 1-8
- German and non-German speaking children of elementary and secondary school age.
Level 9
- Preparation for the AP-Exam (College Advanced Placement) for students of high school age.
Level 10
- Business German (Wirtschaftsdeutsch) and discussion of contemporary problems and events. Preparation for the Sprachsdiplom I and II.
Adult Classes
- Emphasis on understanding, speaking, reading and writing in beginning, intermediate and advanced sections of choice. Business German also available.
Special Activities
- Music activities (folk songs) on all levels. Library service, books and videos available. Craft/food bazaar for students and friends, St. Nikolaus visit, Holiday celebration in December and awards assembly in May (Jahres-Abschlussfeier).
OPPORTUNITIES
AATG Tests

AP Tests
- Prepared by the College Board in Princeton for students of high school age. Test scores of 5, 4 or 3 are accepted by colleges for credit and/or advanced standing.
SAT II Exams
- Foreign language proficiency including German.
Sprachdiplom I & II
- Prepared and administered by the German government for entry admission into European universities as well as international business.
Other Opportunities
- Students are invited to participate in Student Exchange Program (GAPP), attend the Steuben Parade in New York and take part in regular summer travels to German-speaking countries.
